The Licking River Greenway and Trails is an ambitious effort to build an interconnected urban trail through the Licking River corridor, connecting the cities of Covington, Taylor Mill, Wilder and Newport, Kentucky. In its completion the trail system will span 12-14 miles.
The Licking River Greenway and Trails was an initiative of Vision 2015 (now known as Skyward), Northern Kentucky's 10-year strategic plan for growth from 2005-July 2015. Vision 2015 assembled a steering committee in 2008 to develop the Licking River Greenway and Trails Master Plan which outlined the trail map, design standards, and cost. Since 2008 Vision 2015 was instrumental in building partnerships, managing the trail's interlocal agreement, fundraising, and convening. Vision 2015 thanks the cities of Covington, Taylor Mill, Wilder and Newport for their dedication and continued partnership in this project.
